What happens to my data?

Personal data deserves special protection when taking out a loan. Everything you need to know can be found in the blog.
Financing and advice
That's what really matters.
  • How confidentially is my personal data treated when a loan is granted?

  • What personal data does BANK-now have to check when granting a loan?

  • Which offices, companies or persons will be contacted by BANK-now to assess creditworthiness?

  • Why does my data even have to be checked externally at all?

What happens to my data?

Your data is very personal and deserves special protection. That's why BANK-now handles it very carefully.

Anyone who takes out a loan provides information such as their first name, last name, address, date of birth, current income, and monthly expenses. In order to assess your creditworthiness, BANK-now also needs your consent to obtain information from various agencies, companies, or people. This is a standard process for responsible lending. It enables us to determine whether a loan can be granted or could lead to (over)indebtedness.

Credit approval is subject to legal provisions

The law (Art. 3 of the Swiss Federal Act against Unfair Competition, UWG) stipulates that "credit approval is prohibited if it will lead to excessive debt on the part of the consumer." We must therefore check your personal details, your financial situation, and your spending situation very carefully. When you send us a credit application, we may contact one or more of the following: debt enforcement offices, residents' registration office, Commercial Register, and employers.

BANK-now is legally required to carry out a creditworthiness check based on the information you have provided and to report any personal loans or consumer leases granted to the Consumer Credit Information Office.

In addition, you give us permission to report your credit application or leasing application to the Central Office for Credit Information (ZEK). We provide your personal details, the credit amount, the term, and any qualifying payment arrears or misuse.

Membership of the ZEK is obligatory for all credit institutions in Switzerland. Only member companies have access to the data. If you want to know what information the ZEK has stored about you, you can quite easily check these personal details online.
